With the closing laps of the Formula 3 FIA Asia championships on November 25th, Giti Tire’s 2018 season came to a close. But the action will not stop for long, with an exciting 2019 motorsports season ahead, beginning with winter Formula 3 Asia races and Dakar Rally racing in the deserts of Peru kicking off in January.

Even more exciting, Giti has announced a number of other exciting events for 2019, which will feature a record four vehicles participating in the 24 Hours Nürburgring race, including driving the first all-women racing and technician team in a groundbreaking initiative at the world famous race.

Over 24 hours, weather and conditions are constantly changing. From hot sun to heavy rain and fog, from dry heat to cold humidity, all efforts are necessary to conquer 177 high-speed corners and a 300 meter vertical road drop. In the face of bad weather, complex road conditions and dangerous corners, Giti’s GitiCompete GTR1 tires and Dorr Motorsports have achieved successful results over the past two years with high finishes and a 100% race completion rate.

On June 20-23, 2019, Giti Tire will truly achieve history at the legendary track, as the tire of the first women’s team appearing in Nürburgring 24 Hour endurance competition. The team will be co-operated by Giti Tire and the German WS team and will ride on customized WV Golf GTI cars. Team coach Rahel Frey, noted her excitement about the participation. “This will be the first ever racing car driven by a female driver in the history of Nürburgring, including all female technicians in the team’s efforts.” Rahel is very confident that the team will achieve good results in the competition and inspire future female motorsports competitors.

In total, Giti Tire will provide tires and technical services for four cars in 2019, including the above mentioned GTI vehicles as well as with Audi. From one car in its first year to two cars in 2018, and now four cars in the coming season, the performance of Giti racing tires is being recognized by the European and global racing community even more.
